Hi... I am doing AS Maths and Further Maths at the moment and our school allow us to choose which modules we do in maths. I would like to go onto doing a maths degree at university in either applied of pure maths. I was just thinking which modules I should take or consider doing (4 in addition to C3 and C4)....
    Thanks

If you think you prefer the physics side to maths, take at least M1 and M2; if you think you prefer the probability side to maths, take at least S1 and S2. You have 4 options, so, if you're unsure take S1, S2, M1 and M2.

If you're going to do a maths degree, it might be best to make sure you do at least one module of stats or mechanics and then spend the other 3 on either stats or mechanics if you prefer one more than the other.

You could take decision maths if you want to try something new and explore a more computational aspect of maths, but it's completely up to you.

Let us know what you end up choosing!

Thanks for the ideas... will definitely tell you what I end up doing but I do have until September to be able to look through the syllabuses and choose which modules I want to do

How is Further Pure (if anyone has taken that)?

Sat FP1 last year and it is pretty easy. Currently studying FP2 and it's not too bad but there is much more to remember.

What is the syllabus like... what kind of things do you study. I know I could probably find this elsewhere but genuine feedback on the different units really helps

FP1 isn't too bad, I found it all clicked at the end. I'm doing FP2 and FP3 at the moment, honestly I find FP3 easier XD A lot of FP2/3 takes things in C4 like vectors and integration further, so it links in nicely and isn't too bad as long as you're willing to put work in
