Zeolites seperate branched molecules from straight chain as branched molecules cannot pass through the honeycomb structure
    interesting i didnt know that

Yeah same, it was C or D, though I'm pretty sure I put D
I put C but it was weird because it said argon. Know people that put D though

What did people get for the infra red question, on which bond is used to distinguish between the compounds?

    yes electrophilic addition
this question was a nice 7 marker
did u have to name the mechanism?

But in EVERY past paper, "outline mechanism" means drawing
But you would think they would just leave blank space for the answer if that was the case, surely? They left blank space when we were asked to draw other organic compounds.

It's a bit ambiguous to say the least.

    (2)

    CH3CH(OH)CH2OH + 3[O] →
    CH3COCOOH + 2H2O

Just found a past AQA question in an A2 paper. Ffs i didnt balance :s

    It was c, p = nRT/v p is directionally proportional to both t and n so multiplying the temperature by 1.5 gave 195, a was 180 d was 140 and I can't remember what b was

People need to stop comparing new spec to old spec

They would have left a blank space. They left a blank space for damn near everything - even 'working' for the last question where you had to draw the graph.

If they wanted you to draw there would have been a blank space. End of.

AQA would be trolling if they wanted the diagram tho...

That's true. But it would be VERY weird if there was not at least one draw the mechanism question.

the reason why they did that is because the question was in the middle of 2 questions the name of the mechanisms and the why is 3-bromo3methyl pentane produced more than 2-bromo3methylpentane and i think they will accept both because usually in mark schemes they put the drawing but also kinda describe it

I answered the 7 mark mechanism questions in words since there were lines, do you think I'll still be able to access all the marks?
The word " outline" was important for that question as it gives u a hint to draw the mechanism involved

I said you used the c=c to distinguish
What was it meant to be?

Zeolites are incredibly interesting, they're literally molecular sieves and have tons of uses

i wrote simple distillation is that right
i wrote distillation as-well because of the boiling points

only had 12 minutes for section b and did it on time
