People introduce themselves. The teachers explain how the course will be run. Not much learning takes place. It's not as nerve-wracking as you might expect.

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. We had a tour of the university which was a nice refresher and we all introduced ourselves and what we would be learning. Through the week each individual module leader explained the course so it wasn't just an overall talk about business.

Usually, during Freshers week, you'll have an induction session for your course, where often lecturers will introduce themselves and explain how the course is going to work. Some unis will also run sessions to introduce you to the labs if you have them, and you may also meet your seminar group and/or your personal tutor.

In the first lectures for each module, most lecturers like to give you an overview of the course, how its assessed and maybe introduce some key ideas/topics. You may find they review some A-level content at first, to make sure everyone is up to speed.

Usually, it's fairly stress free and nothing to worry about at all!
