I'll keep it short: had a fall out with mother for a while now and it was pretty life changing - led to me finding my father again and finding out my mother lied. To get back at me (because my mother hates my father) she's sent me a message saying she's not going to fund my student finance application and that 'your dad can do it unless you change'. She knows I cannot afford university unless I use her income because my father is wealthy and so I would get the minimum student finance (which many of you know is ridiculously hard to live on even just for rent). Is there any way around this?

    Hi lightergait

If you are in contact with biological parents you would have to provide income details from one of them to be assessed for the income assessed funding. If you have supported yourself for 3 years you can request to apply as an independent student, we would require 3 years of evidence for this such as P60s or payslips.

    Thanks

So can I still use my mother's income if I've been in contact with her for the past 3 years?
