I'm studying modern history at the University of Central Lancashire. I'm presently in my second year and I must submit a progression form on Friday outlining the modules I want to study next year, which incidentally is my final year. I recollect in my first year that someone wished to study a module outside the parameters of the history program, and as I wish to look at film history for my dissertation, I was wondering whether it is possible to do a film studies module to complement my studies?

If this is possible I'd be indebted if someone could enlighten me as to the process of getting onto a module that strictly is not part of the degree program.
