How I can start learning a language? Watch

    Hi,

    I'm born in Britain but my family come from Pakistan, anyways long story short I didn't learn Urdu properly and would like to start, how can I start ?

    You could find books to self-study Urdu and practice with your family. Or you could use italki.

    In terms of books, I'd recommend the Assimil series just cos I've used them and find them very good for getting started. The're a bit expensive though so check your local library!

    There's certainly no shame in asking your family to help you out. I think they'd appreciate the effort on your part, and using a language practically at a day-to-day basis is the best way to learn.
