A private healthcare service, good or bad? watch

These are all fairly decent points, and in the OP I did allude to some of these, however I'd disagree with the last one but that's for another day.
yea i agree the last point is a bit weak after rereading it isnt really a great example of the side benefits of state run industries. i cant say im a socialist however i do believe that the state should be in controll of or at least a major regulator of all sectors that are essential to maintenance of modern society such as infrastructure and its maintenance (railways, roads, telecommunications etc) healthcare, justice defense and banking.

this is not to say that private industries cant operate in some of these fields but its my opinion that if the government and by extension the taxpayer is going to pay for it then the government should be in charge of doing it and held accountable to the taxpayer,
take road maintenance there are several roads near me that are patched up on a practically monthly basis, private contractors are rewarded by doing the absolute minimum standard required because it means they get to do the job again and again each time getting paid for it, if it were a state run industry the incentive would be to do the job as few times as possible because the expendiure would be less in the long run.

Except the prices aren't artificially high, they've always been high.

I do say the same about food and water (you should have left out oxygen because food and water were the only decent points there) which is why we have welfare and charity, because they are involuntary needs.
