    Hello guys,

I got a conditional offer from Surrey and am seriously thinking of making it my firm choice as it looks amazing. I have one concern though. My parents would be able to pay for my accommodation and basic needs but from what I've heard Guildford is relatively expensive town and I doubt whether I would have money for leasure activities like going out with friends on weekends or cinema etc.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on how easy (or difficult) it is to find a part-time job either on or off campus and most importantly if it is possible work while studying?

Its quite easy to get a part time job if you're open as to where you work, look for jobs within the union and any places in town. It's not that much more expensive than any where else and if you're not worrying about accommodation fees you'll be fine.

Working while studying? I worked part time at the beginning of my second year and found it took away so much time that I would have otherwise spent studying. Of course it depends on the person, but I think you'll find during first year you'll want to spend your spare time with friends, enjoying going out and being part of a society rather than working - even if that means your on a tight budget.
What's the best type of cheese?
