At the age of 92, F1 commentator legend Murray Walker has been lured out of retirement to join the Channel 4 F1 presenting team, along with F1 legends such as Alain Prost, Eddie Jordan, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, etc. I'm going to enjoy the F1 coverage on Channel 4:

I was expecting to see he'd come out of the closet.

IMO F1 need everything the TV companies can throw at it in order to seem exciting these days - Murray is legendary, guess this is the reason.

tbh not sure why he was forced out of the BBC in the first place - was he making excessive wage demands?

He commentated on F1 for the BBC up until the end of 1996, then when the coverage moved to ITV he commentated for them from 1997 to 2001 before retiring out of his own choice. I know he recently did a few bits for the BBC website etc, I think he just wanted to work part time and enjoy his retirement, I don't know? Perhaps since the BBC lost the full coverage to SKY, costs were being cut so he wasn't featured so much?

One thing I'll say is he's extremely healthy and well for someone aged 92, and he sure doesn't look that age!
