# How was edexcel M2 2day? watch

1. so how was it?

one of the easiest papers from the last three years
3. Hard, I couldnt do the second/third part of the restitution question or the second part of the ladder question.
4. it woz ok.....but i jus wished i had revised more....its a retake 4 me...n i didnt bother ...i woz mre worried bout chem and bio unit 4 and 5!!!!

5. It was a nasty paper that ladder question was a pain as well as restitution i got f<1/9 and i made the stupidest mistake on vector question i put 90-40=50 instead of 90-50=40 cos i used the wrong bloody method. And i needed to get over 94 ums points

Thought M2 was fairly easy

i resolved horizontally to find one value for P

then took moments about point B (at top of ladder) which gave a different value of P so i assumed P must be in the range between these values

Anyone know if this is the correct method?, cant really remember the values though, sorry

anyone who can remember any answers, pls post so we can compare

For last part of last question, got 23 ms-1

got f<1/9 i think

cant remember anything else, if anyone could jog my memory would be helpful

time was 3.83

13. I thought the exam went ok but I screwed up the ladder question becuse I thought the wall was rough!
14. it was easy, well most of it. i was doing fine until i got to question 5b. i thought for a bit and did it, but 5c bugged me so i left it out.

the ladder one, i will have gotten most if not all of the method marks, but the answer ones im not sure about, depends if they repeatedly dock marks for the same mistake: i resolved the reaction of the wall as cosalpha, instead of sinealpha for resolving it when taking moments about A.

got second part wrong in answer because again, same mistake, even though i used the vale of 7mg that they asked you to prove.

i messed up the time of flight for the skier, becaue i had revised all formulas except -b +- root b^2 -4ac, i forgot it in the exam and put b instead of -b.

but rest was ok. i dont think that the speed was exactly 3, and i didn't use time in the calculation.

17. I thought it was OK, some bits that I didn't like and so moved on and tackled later. I got 23ish ms-1 for the final part of the final question.

I got 1/9<f<1

and i got 0.4mg < P < 7mg

It wasn't a decimal, it was exactly 3.

Here's my method for 6b:
Friction acts opposite to motion. In the default case, it acts opposite to the motion of the ladder, i.e. to the right. However, when P becomes strong enough to break equilibrium, friction acts opposite to it, i.e. to the left.
20. Does anyone know how many marks the second part of the ladders question was worth? (It was find the range of values for P)
