I have been doing my computing coursework but my idea is very similar to another person who's example my teacher found on the internet and I am worried that I may get screwed for plagiarism even though I have not copied anyone. However a lot of people do similar projects as for example the example on the OCR website is a snake game and I am sure there is someone else who has done a snake game. Someone please help me I am really worried

As long as you are not copying sentences and paragraphs word for word you should be ok. You are allowed to write about the general idea of somebody else's work or quote statistics from this providing a reference is given. If you are coding then get an intended outcome with your own code - not copying and pasting somebody else's. Even if everyone in your class made a snake game, or a sodoku game, each person's code and writing for their understanding can still be original. So yeah, just don't intentionally copy and you should be fine. Then just do what businesses do by making things even better, like pacman snake, or give the snake a hat I dunno.

I think they would generally be able to tell if code has been copied by the report/write up that you have to do about the program - it would be obvious because you wouldn't really be able to explain all of it etc.
I think that as long as your write up is solid and covers development of code and all that you should be fine

I dont think they check the code too much aside from how it works as there are only a certain number of ways that you can write code for a function e.g a login but yeah im guessing as long as i dont copy sentances i should be OK
