My wife has just completed degree in Fine Arts with full Student Finance funding (tuition fees loan and maintenance loan)
She now wants to study Secondary PGCE. How can she fund this? Can she get another student loan or is this not allowed as she's already had a loan for her first degree?? Someone said that Career Development Loans are her only option - is this true? If she can't get tuition fee loan is she eligible for adult support grant/maintenance grant etc (we have two children at primary school)

PGCEs are funded through a second standard undergraduate student loan - including maintenance loans. The loans just get added onto her loans from her Fine Art degree so she'll end up repaying for a few extra years after she completes her PGCE and earns over £21k.

She doesn't need to take out a career development loan.

    Hi cosas del queer

A PGCE course is classed as an exceptions course to the normal previous study rule. As long as the course is eligible and she does not hold a qualified teacher status, she will be able to apply.

    Thanks
