Hi, I would like to apply for the PGCE Schools Direct Programme. I am a somewhat mature student (43) and currently live in South Africa with my husband and 3 children. I am British, have lived there most of my life, worked, paid taxes, have a 1:1 at a UK university, etc. I want to return home and retrain. Would I be eligible for funding? When looking at the Student Funding calculator, https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-c...or/y/2016-2017, I'm not sure what to classify myself as? Would I have to return to the UK first before applying?
Or could I make the application from here? Thanks so much for any help!

    See http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information...and-fee-status
    and http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information...tudent-Support

Your eligibility for home fees and student support will depend on proving that you living outside the UK/EU/EEA is a temporary arrangement.

There's links through to definitions and case law on residence classification on both links

    Hi jomanzicrean

You would be able to apply if this as a temporary break in residency and you can provide evidence to show it, such a specific term work contract.

    Thanks
