I've just been applying for my student finance, first year, and it's saying on the maintenance loan part that you can only borrow up to £3821? I thought it was up to £8200 you could borrow for maintenance starting in the 2016/2017 academic year?
I don't know if it's just a glitch but I don't want to continue with the form and not be able to get the full amount.

    Thanks for any help!

£3,821 is the basic loan you can get if your household income is above £40,000 (I think that's the amount). If your household income is below £25,000 then you get the maximum (£8,200) and if your household income is between the two then you get an amount between the two.

To get anything above the basic loan you need to have your parents submit evidence of your household income.

    Hi amycosford

£3821 is the basic non-means tested amount if you don't live with parents and are outside London. If you wish to be assessed for the higher amount based on household income, please ensure you have selected this on the application. You sponsors will then be sent an email link asking them to provide household income details.

    Thanks
