I am currently in my final year of studying for an MEng degree, yet want to do a MSc postgrad. However, after looking at the postgrad loan I am not sure I am eligible for one as it says "Students who already hold a Master’s qualification (or an equivalent or higher level qualification) will not be eligible for PGL".
Does this mean I can't get a postgraduate loan or can I still apply for one as I won't graduate until the summer?

I've seen documentation saying that enhanced undergraduate masters (like MEng) will make applicants ineligible for the new loans. There's no official guidance to students or advisors stating that as yet.

I'd say keep an eye on the guidance and apply if it isn't clear but don't pin your hopes on getting a loan.

    Hi gosling

This has not been fully confirmed yet so please keep checking online for updates. We have been advised that students who already hold a qualification which is equivalent to or higher in level than a Masters (ELQ) will not be eligible for a postgraduate loan.
This applies regardless of whether or not the student had received funding (public or private) for the course. Thanks
