So my predictions for AIC are in this order:
    - Sheila/Gerald = most likely (haven't come up in the newish papers)
    - Inspector --> apparently came up in 2012
    - Mrs Birling --> came up in 2013
And I don't think it will be Eva, Eric or Mr Birling since they have come up too recently.

    Any predictions for the theme?

Resources*If you find any useful resources message me and I'll put them in*

To help introduce yourself fill the form below:
    • What novel, play and poetry cluster are you studying?
    • How are you preparing for the exam - do you feel confident for it?
    • Do you have any predictions for certain characters/themes?
I'm on the WJEC exam board.
Novel- Heroes and Of Mice and Men
    Play- An Inspector Calls
    Poetry- Unseen Poetry

I believe for one of the Of Mice and Men essay question, it will be about Curley's Wife. She hasn't come up before and she is such an interesting character.

Unsure for the rest of the novels.
    Anyone got any predictions?

Curley's wife came up last year so it's unlikely that it will be her

I'm doing AIC, OMAM, and character and voice cluster. I think my favourite part of the GCSE is unseen poetry though! I've mostly been preparing by writing essays (which my teacher has been setting as homework) and watching Mr Bruff and Mr Salles on YouTube.

I'm really hoping for a theme like power or jealousy to come up for poetry or something to do with change or identity.

Hi! I am also doing the Crucible, so thanks for your suggestions I completely forgot about Hathorne!! Isn't he pretty minor though?? That's why I kinda missed him out of my revision :/ I really hope he doesn't come up... Also I think that Tituba could be a possibility as well.

I think they changed that rule a few years ago (1 or 2) - especially as sister Maude was a named poem on the higher paper last year!

'in paris with you', 'brothers' and 'to his coy mistress' havent come up yet, altho like mr buff said, 'brothers' will probably never come up because there isn't enough to say about it for A* students to 'fly' (as he says) because the poem is too simple

Oh and 'sister maude', 'brothers' and 'in paris with you' were moved to be included in the higher paper as well last year

i'll tell your the way we have been taught!

    part (a) OMAM: (20 mins)

    1. a very brief introduction linking to what the questions is asking, don't need social context really for this part.

    2. one point you have picked out from the extract with PEE, and pick out a key word to analyse.

    3. another point you have picked out from the extact, same as before.

    4. a final point from the extract, same as before!

    5. brief conclusion, referring back to the question.

    part (b) OMAM: (25 mins)

very similar to part (a) however the all of the paragraphs need to link to SOCIAL CONTEXT and STEINBECK'S INTENTION. and also, if you have time you should use a few supporting quotes and more analysis + perceptive comments in the paragraphs. also, we have been taught to do an extra paragraph on settings, symbols and theorists!

    AIC: (45 mins)

basically the exact same as the part (b) OMAM except link to 1912, 1945 and PRIESTLEY'S INTENTION! + this essay should be much more detailed than the OMAM ones because you are given lots more time. so i hope you love AIC, unlike me who much prefers OMAM!

good luck, i'm worried for this exam but i also feel quite well prepared!
Absolutely brilliant tips (if that makes sense) thanks!
