Please could someone help me, I'm doing my french gcse speaking about jobs and I would like to begin by saying, 'I am applying for the position of a waitress' or something along those lines and I think the teacher told us to write,
'Je poser ma candidature pour le poste de serveuse', but then the french assistant checked my work and I think he said it was
'Je veux poser ma candidature pour le poste de serveuse'.
.....which one is right.

I wouldn't use the present tense if I were you, it sounds weird. Say going to, or you have applied.
