Hi, I've applied to study history (v100) and I think I've now narrowed it down to University of Birmingham or Edinburgh.

They're both meant to be good and Russell group. Birmingham is slightly better in the league tables and better for graduate employment (number one uni for graduate employment in the UK), but Edinburgh is more globally known.

I'm really stuck on which one to pick. I want a uni which has a strong academic reputation (which they both seem to), good job prospects, strong sports teams and a good social and nightlife?

Any thoughts on which one would be very helpful?

Well at Edinburgh you will only study history for half your time during the first 2 years, if you don't want to study other subjects, go to Birmingham.

    I firmed Birmingham,

After visiting them both I decided on Birmingham. Although Edinburgh was lovely, I preferred the course, campus, accommodation and student life at the University of Birmingham.
