Could I ask if Student Finance will reassess changes during the academic year or is the amount of finance calculated based on your situation on 1st September ?
My daughter recently discovered she is pregnant and starts Year 3 before the baby is born. She has good support and plans to complete the Year as planned
The finance application is just about to be completed but we are aware there are additional grants for childcare and parents which she would become eligible for after the birth
She has been advised to complete the application as normal and have her loan worked out based on her present circumstances then contact student finance after the birth to allow them to update her details. Is this the right way to do things as she doesnt want to hold up the september loan payment and already has things in place with her University to work from home for the first few weeks of term as the baby is due early October
Will student finance then recalculate her loan based on the new circumstances and add on the childcare elements and how long would this process take as it is my understanding we could only include a child if the due date is before 1st September 2016

If your daughter has a change of circumstances, such as requiring childcare, she can be reassessed during the year at any point.
