How convenient for you! That means you don't need to show any direct evidence, doesn't it?
    Here is plenty of evidence:

The European Movement was financed by the Americans in an operation called ACUE (American Committee on United Europe) which was sanctioned by the Allies after WWII. Duncan Sandys realised that the USA was the only large scale source of funds but was: "Very anxious that American support for the European Movement should not be known" . ACUE also funded Jean Monnet's ACUSE and was run by the CIA.

Aldrich, Richard J.(1997)'OSS, CIA and European unity: The American committee on United Europe, 1948-60',Diplomacy and Statecraft,8:1,184 — 227

    And here is more

"DECLASSIFIED American government documents show that the US intelligence community ran a campaign in the Fifties and Sixties to build momentum for a united Europe. It funded and directed the European federalist movement.

The documents confirm suspicions voiced at the time that America was working aggressively behind the scenes to push Britain into a European state. One memorandum, dated July 26, 1950, gives instructions for a campaign to promote a fully fledged European parliament. It is signed by Gen William J Donovan, head of the American wartime Office of Strategic Services, precursor of the CIA.

The documents were found by Joshua Paul, a researcher at Georgetown University in Washington. They include files released by the US National Archives. Washington's main tool for shaping the European agenda was the American Committee for a United Europe, created in 1948. The chairman was Donovan, ostensibly a private lawyer by then.

The vice-chairman was Allen Dulles, the CIA director in the Fifties. The board included Walter Bedell Smith, the CIA's first director, and a roster of ex-OSS figures and officials who moved in and out of the CIA. The documents show that ACUE financed the European Movement, the most important federalist organisation in the post-war years. In 1958, for example, it provided 53.5 per cent of the movement's funds.

The European Youth Campaign, an arm of the European Movement, was wholly funded and controlled by Washington. The Belgian director, Baron Boel, received monthly payments into a special account. When the head of the European Movement, Polish-born Joseph Retinger, bridled at this degree of American control and tried to raise money in Europe, he was quickly reprimanded."

(Retinger set up the Bilderberg Group in 1954 to ensure funding for the European Movement, this Elite pro-EU group is now dominant, its plutocratic style being what the US expects)

There are now several books on the subject. The CIA and US government funded European union. What is more the pet bank of the US government, Goldman Sachs, is funding the UK "Stronger In Europe" campaign in the current referendum and no-one in the Establishment is raising an eyebrow!.

This is all very interesting but it is not at issue. Everyone here knows early post-war European unity projects were a tool of the US. However it is now 60 or 70 years on from the events you are describing, with the US in many ways a busted flush. The European Union stands to be stronger than America if it reforms and marches forward united. Britain must be firmly in.

The documents detailing US involvement are locked up under 30 and 50 year embargoes which is why the trail goes colder after the late 1960s. Even an Oxford PhD thesis on the subject was security classified!

What we do know is that the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations have been busy. We also know that the Bilderberg Group was set up with the objective of mediating American interest in European integration. Unfortunately the Bilderberg meetings have largely been secret and even the attendance lists and agendas have been hidden until this century.

    Little gems leak out however:

"A meeting in June in Europe of the Bilderberg Group - an informal club of leading politicians, businessmen and thinkers chaired by Mr Davignon - (EU Commissioner) - could also "improve understanding" on future action, in the same way it helped create the euro in the 1990s, he said. "EU Observer

A slip that shows that Bilderberg is still to some extent in control, for instance by creating the euro. But notice the description of Bilderberg as an "informal club of leading politicians.." rather than "an organisation set up by the European Movement for the Elite to implement European Union".
