I am going to be applying this summer and I realise there's still a while to think about it but I really do need to think about it. I am stuck between two courses - History and Archaeology or History and Primary Education.
I would absolutely love a job outdoors and travelling. History has always interested me, the museums and I have visited a dig that was going on in an old Roman town in England. I could see myself out and about in nature digging and working. However, archaeology jobs are difficult to come by and are generally not well paid. The salary of a job is not the most important factor for me but it should definitely be considered.
On the other hand, I'd love to work with children. I never had any brothers and sisters growing up but when in situations around children I feel I have more patience and care with them than some others around me. I could definitely see myself in a classroom and teaching kids. However, I know this is a stressful job and it takes a lot of guts.
I could see myself in both jobs and I have no idea which would be better for me. I first settled on education and then looked into archaeology when looking at all my options. I then seemed dead set on archaeology but however I am now torn between the two degrees again. I do not seem to have a gut instinct. I would love both jobs I just can't decide which to do!
Grade wise, I am doing well and am on course for getting the required grades for both of these degrees.

I would apply for history and archeology and then do a PGCE in History afterwards. That way you leave both options open
