    Hi everyone!

This is a bit of a hypothetical question, but I am still waiting on USA university decisions, assuming I have my eyes set the most on a particular North American university and am on the waiting list, I know I would have to firm one of my UCAS choices for assurance. However, what if I get off of the waiting list for the USA school and choose it over the UK university? How would I unfirm my offer? Once I firm it am I obliged to attend? It doesn't seem UCAS has the option to go back on an offer after accepting it like i have seen in Canadian and American schools

You just email the admissions office of the uni you accepted here and ask them to withdraw you from the offer. It's very easily done.

    ivybridge is in this situation.

He has firmed/insured his choices but if he gets an American choice, he will simply withdraw himself and attend his American College

Oh phew thank you both for the answers! I was fearing it would be more complicated than this. lol UCAS is very strict on students wanting to change their insurance to firm offers so I assumed the same for this! :P

    All good

Where are you thinking you'll be waitlisted, out of curiosity?

Hopefully at least wait listed to MIT even though chances are probably low! Admittedly, I was thinking ahead a bit

Aha alright Just remember though the chances of both an acceptance and a waitlist are very similar!

    3 days to go, yeah?

Hope your Pi Day is a happy one
