    Hello everyone.

I'm very new to this site so please be gentle!

I'm hoping to study a course with the OU in September. I studied with them a few years ago but the fee system has changed since then! You used to get a £795-odd grant from the OU if you met the financial criteria but now you need to apply to SFE for a part-time loan.

I have many chronic health problems and as such I'm in receipt of Income Related ESA and DLA, as well as CTC and my husband receives Carers Allowance for being my full-time carer.

How would being granted a part-time SFE loan affect this?

    Thank you.

I've heard that the OU is technically classed as study for benefits purposes but I'm not sure how true that is.
