Hi, I have an essay due which states it should be 2500 words. Some lecturers have been using the symbol 10+%- or something. I think it is in regards to I can go over by 10%, right? but if i go over by more will 1 mark be taken off per 10% over or how does this work?

sorry if my question is a bit stupid, i am used to most lecturers being leniant with word counts but recently this has changed.

it'll mean that you can go 10% over or under without being penalised (i.e. 2500 +/-10% would be 2250-2750). I can't imagine it'd be anything else
