I'm in year 11 and my exams are in about two months. My art exam time starts even earlier. I still have to finish my coursework and I haven't even started my exam sketchbook. I have spent so much time on work that wasn't even good enough. It's getting really stressful trying to cope with all the things I need to do and I really want to drop it so that I can concentrate on revising for other subjects. People keep telling me that I might as well finish the course but I really don't want to.I'd really like to go to Oxford/Cambridge and I'm predicted A*s in most of my other subjects but if I dropped art I'd only be doing 9 GCSEs.Any advice?

Hey. When is your art exam and do you know what grade you're currently sitting on?

My art exam is on April 18th and my predicted grade is an A* but at the moment my coursework is at a C at best.

I would recommend you drop it then. If your target is an A* you're certainly capable of doing it but if you haven't even finished your coursework piece I'd say it's more trouble then it's worth. As you haven't finished your coursework yet you'd have to spend all Easter on it and I'm sure you're after a lot of other A*s too. You're probably better to focus on them and drop the art. A lot of people in my art class are in the same situation and are keeping it on but wouldn't be aiming for Oxbridge! 9 GCSEs is still a perfectly adequate number so don't worry about not having enough. Good luck whatever you choose!
