If I'd been with a guy for six months and he didn't love me I'd be evaluating whether he is the one for me. But as others have said maybe he does love you but is afraid to say it.

I think people throw the word "love" around and it can be a dangerous word! For me, I know who I love, close friends, family, if it feels real, it's love, there needs to be a complete connection. I wouldn't just throw it around at my girlfriend of 5 minutes "ah luv ya bby girl" nah!

I know girls who hate their boyfriend and feel no connection and still tell them they love them. What the **** is that? lol!!

And it doesn't matter if I've been with the person for for 6 months, there's no set time period, either the feeling will arise or it won't. I wouldn't say until I'm ready.

I said it to mine about four months ago when we'd been seeing each other for six months and he didn't say it back. He said it back to me a few weeks ago, and we tell each other all the time now.

Sometimes it just takes time for people to be ready <3

I think there is often a mismatch in terms of when each side is ready to say 'I love you' and indeed what it means to them. Seems that he was dealing with this in a caring affectionate way. I wouldn't worry and just keep enjoying the relationship.
