Can a recurrence relation sequence have a common difference? Are they classed as Arithmetic sequences??

There are many types of recurrence relations in sequences. If you have say  U_{n+1} = U_n + 3 , then this is obviously an arithmetic sequence.
But you could have  U_{n+1} = 0.5U_n which is clearly a geometric sequence.
