    Why did you leave islam
My first bit of doubt came to me after seriously thinking about evolution, and how it did not fit in well with the Quran. I then did other research and I stopped believing in Islam mainly due to some of the scientific errors in the quran.

The Quran states that the mountains were pegs and stabilised the earth, and from my knowledge of geology, that is completely wrong.

Well it's all about perceptive. You could say 'Mountains do hold the tectonic plates together and also do function as buffer against earthquakes'

In my understanding, mountains form as a consequence of the movement on tectonic plate boundaries, so the word peg, which implies that they were pushed into the earth, does not fit in. And the quran is supposed to be absolutely flawless, so surely the all knowing creator of the universe would be able to use a better word than peg to more accurately describe his 'creation'.

That's your interpretation, you have to give create to a book that was created in 604 CE and I'm very aware that the Mountains are created by the collision of tectonic plates a process that does not stabilize the earth, but instead cause an earthquake. That also brings the issue that if God, Allah, is so omnibenevolent, why does natural disasters exist? Personally I'm not religious at all but I was playing devil's advocate

    No, mechanical engineering.

I don't pray. Jumuah on the other hand I go to every week, to appease my parents.
