I want to take Music for A Level and apossibly go onto Music at university, maybe composition for film, but as ive been looking through university requirements for music degrees most of them require Grade 8 Practical which I don't have. Without this, is there any point in taking Music for A Level?

You don't have to have the actual grade certificate, but what sort of level are you?
For A level music if you are roughly grade 6-7 ish when you start it you should be fine, but if possible I'd look into getting the grade 8 before applying to uni as it makes applying easier.
Some go by auditions anyway so you should be okay without it.
