I play hockey regularly and to a resonably high standard and would really like to play at the LSE but the website for the team seems really out of date.

Can anyone give me any info about the standard of the team within the UoL and nationally, what league they play in, where they play home games, do they tour and how often they train.

Thanks in advance

All i know is with any sport team you should expect to catch the train to the training ground.

This has an article on the LSE hockey team. Oddly enough, though, they're playing on grass. Why would you play hockey on grass? Don't you guys have an ice rink?

Yeah I think it's quite lame they play it on grass  I just love ice skating too much... playing on grass takes away all the fun of hockey.

Not surprised you're shocked seeing as you're from Canada

I thought hockey in this country tended to be played on grass/astro turf?

Reply 6

And that makes it crap :P

Reply 7

99.999% of hockey played in this country is played on astroturf

Reply 8

you guys are being silly. Hockey is ALWAYS played on grass ;P

comparing ice hockey to field hockey is like comparing a ballet to a boxing match.
Hence ice hockey is rubbish.

Reply 12

Pfft what would you know about Ice Hockey.

If someone can't skate and then blames Ice Hockey for being rubbish then no wonder :p:

Go watch some NHL. It's more entertaining than boys running on the grass.

People running around on the grass in skirts with little sticks in their hands -- that's field hockey. It is popular in some European countries, as are pink shirts for men and jeans so tight they give a little too much information.

Hockey is played on on a rink, a frozen pond/lake/canal, a flooded and frozen back yard, or, as a last resort, on a road with friends from the neighbourhood.

Offtopic: I seriously don't know how can men wear pink shirts. Then again it's not as bad as tight jeans... that's just ..":s-smilie: "

That is such a wrong stereotype have you ever been to a REAL hockey match nothing where u have to wear body armour cos ur scared to get knocked about abit. Pink shirts and tight jeans is polo.

Having played on both astro and ice i think its fair to say ICE HOCKEY ALL THE WAY !!!!:biggrin: p.s astro isn't bad but you just cannot compare the enjoyment of slide goals with the boredom of penalty corners !!

How can having a ball drag flicked at 100mph at your head be boring?
