hey guys i just sealed my fate on ucas and chose kcl war studies as firm and soas politics as insurance..

i'm not that sure i want to go to soas but i just want to be in london.....so please tell me that kcl is lenient when ppl miss their offers!

I'd like to know that as well (they probably aren't is my guess since most universities give out an overwhelming amount of offers and expect many not to meet them). The exams went completely wrong for me  Although I won't dwell on it right now...

Its all dependant on how many offers they made, how many people actually get the grades and those who miss their grade may have had a particular circumstance, such as illness, accident, etc.

These along with factors such as funding go hand in hand, if a particular uni takes in more people that it had planned, the government does not provide funding for the extra people, that is taken out of the particular departments budget!

I do know however that King's have taken in a fair share of people who dropped by upto 2/3 grades but then again i don't know what the financial situation was for the uni at the time, or how well the person may have apeared on paper or interview! You can't really predict these things your going to have to wait and see!

Good luck

Thanks for the comforting reply. I've kind of prepared myself for the worst. As long as I end up studying English Lit at a credible university like Lancaster/Reading and several other universities who go through clearing I'll be fine

I know two people (one for computer science, other for law) who just missed on the grades required for the offer and they were rejected despite phone calls pleading for acceptance. Ofcourse you never know, maybe you'll be lucky.

Are things different internationally? What if I'm an international student?
