    how do exam boards know if a candidate has cheated on his coursework or controlled assessment?
    Say for example,, if a candidate had done a hand written essay, how will the examiners know he has copied it from somewhere?
    what do they do to check if they had copied baring in mind its hand written>

    They don't unless the slight minority of a chance they've seen the text elsewhere, however if it's like hardly relevant or uses abstract concepts that are way beyond the average knowledge of a 16 year old / what is on your spec they might get suspicious
