Hi,

Last year I fell ill with meningitis, as a long term result of this I suffer from memory loss, both short and long term. I have been told that I should research into any equipment that may help me with my studies, does anyone know of any software/equipment that could help?

Thanks

Are you at uni? If you apply for Disabled Students Allowance, you will have a one-to-one assessment by an expert, who can identify your support needs and recommend specialist software/equipment. They will be able to tailor a support package to help with your personal set of challenges.

It depends how exactly your memory problems affect you? I have memory loss too. I find I've got to write things down. I've got a countdown / reminder app on my phone, which is very useful. For me, it's mostly the small things which help a lot.

hello,
I am dyslexic and have other learning problems and one of them is memory loss short term and long. I would get hold of student finance and talk to DSA (Disabled student alliance) people because they gave me lots of equipment that supports me and they will give you an assessment that means you will get the best support to fit you. I Currently i go to Newman University and although the equipment is very helpful the most helpful thing is the support from lectures and other students, so maybe you should make sure you make use of student support services.
