Party members will at the end of the day have a free vote and I will not be recommending they vote for any particular candidate.
I am not suggesting you should, merely that you should encourage them to vote, whichever way they should choose.

I have sent out a party PM to that effect.

Yeah voted, I have no issue btw of the socialists running the manifesto they have, they as a party adopted a stance and support that stance publicly, I don't see how they can really submit individual manifestos when in essence it would merely be a rewrite of the party manifesto.

As for Joel, I've enjoyed working with him in government, it is a loss to the government no doubt, but I remain confident that he, and the liberals as a whole, have more integrity than to get someone to resign merely to stand to regain their lost seat, especially when the MP who lost their seat is the deputy speaker.

Finally I am revealed UKIP aren't standing a candidate, partly as it means conkip can only level with us, and partly as now Nigel can't moan about Labour not standing someone, which as Cranbrook mentioned was due to those who could stand not wanting to at this point, for personal reasons and such I am sure.

Anyway to finish, I endorse, and stand in solidarity with the Socialist candidate, lets make this place slightly more left wing than it was yesterday!

    Communists? That's a bit extreme.
The one communist we have in the Socialists refuses to participate in the MHoC because he rejects reformism completely.
Also UKIP aren't fielding a candidate so you've nothing to worry about on the extremist side.

I'd like to see how the National Liberal party does - if they do well we might see an end to the current dominant party system.

Of course if they fail the future of their party will go tits up and they mightn't even last long enough to make it to the next election.

This'll determine the future of their party, as well as give us an idea of their performance in the next GE....

I don't know what drama has gone on between you and Airmed, but I doubt she ever shared many principles with you. You are ultra-right wing, you belong in UKIP. I still don't understand why you joined the Liberals in the first place.

True, as well as Airmed's left leanings - how were there any shared principles?
I think he might be referring to the party as a whole however.
If he maintains that he is a centrist rather than right wing, maybe the Nat Libs'd be a good party for JoeL1994 for a fresh start?

Wut? Please find proof that I'm ultra right wing, I doubt even Airmed or PetrosAC would define me as that, how ridiculous.

Mr Speaker RayApparently I would like to say that it is an honour to stand in a by election. I would like to address a few points. Firstly in regards to the conversation between me and DMcGovern was just out of curiosity and some light hearted banter nothing should be read into it. Secondly I may not have posted much in the MHoC but I have strong beliefs and believe that the Socialists represent me the best that is why I wanted to be theit reprsentative. Furthermore I endorsed the manifesto and due to the shortage of one time I could not write my own manifesto.

Thus I urge evryone to vote for the Socialists, as a vote for me will help to bring true change in the British society. At this time of financial and social turmoil the Socialists can provide the leadership which will be pivotal for the UK.

I think centrist is a funny word to use in hindsight as there are definite social and economic aspects I would describe as being of a Social Democrat nature, while I also tend to be quite right wing or Liberal in other aspects.

You're just too interventionist on Foreign Affairs. That was the main issue really. I mean, we disagreed on other things too, but they were more minor things.

Economically you're certainly not ultra right wing, and you're socially liberal.

    Hear hear!
Some great insight there - for a left-wing alternative!
