They are using their good fortune namely their physical assets to get rich quickly rather than the honourable way of getting your hands dirty or studying or being entrepreneurial. Rather than taking a broader long term view, the desire for the latest guff from apple takes precedence. After all plenty of ugly people flee persecution or live in poverty and they dont have that option. Prozzies are surely nothing other than lazy, greedy, treacherous scum.
I see them as victims whatever their situation is however way they got there willingly or not. It's not easy doing that to yourself, where these guys have no respect for you and sometimes get beat up, these girls are victims of low self esteem, think they that's all their worth that's ****ing sad.
When it comes to sex trafficking etc then obviously they are undoubtably the victims. However, I don't see why people look down on the sex industry as a profession. These women are providing a service and I think they probably prevent rape to an extend we don't wholly appreciate, because people are able to fulfil their desires elsewhere. Porn is just the same to me and I'm assuming that people on this thread indulge in that.
People jack off with their right hand and point with their left.
It is completely false to assume they are always the victim.
Undoubtedly some have been forced to assume that role, or even don't have a choice. Yet, there are still a fairly high proportion that do it not only because it pays extremely well, but also because it is well regulated in some regions
the idea that they are all victims is an argument raised only by the OP. Ofc not all, but many are.
The girls who are forced and trafficked into prostitution are the victims yes.
I've never understood why prostitutes get called home wreckers when wives find out their husbands are sleeping with them. The guy was the one who called up the prostitute and the prostitute is literally doing her/his jobs. As for the prostitutes, if they're being safe and consensual, then I don't see the problem.
It's quite sexist to assume the sex industry is mainly women. I recommend people visit Soho on a Saturday night. Where's feminism when you need it?
Their occupation is seen as degrading and demeaning.
They subject themselves to degrading and demeaning acts.
People victimize them because they do it to themselves(whereas pimps are demonized since they aren't inflicting these acts upon themselves). It's the same reason why people who commit suicide or self-harm are victimized- they inflict harm upon themselves.
i'd say they're victims as the majority are either
-have severe debts
-have a family to support
very few are in it for the money other than maybe some high end ones
I see prostitutes as victims because usually (i believe) prostitution is used to pay off bills or get more drugs. I hear stories about girls being forced in it, girls going into prostitutes to make some money for survival, and just doing it because of bad relationships with dads or childhood? The things i heard about prostitutes are rarely pretty or even glamorous. So I'm sorry my mind is not seeing the fab side of prostitution.
I don't believe most girls in that fields do because they actually enjoy it. I did read one article about a male prostitute who did for money other that, no positive stories about girls enjoying being a prostitute.
And being a prostitute sounds sooooo risky. Your client could clock you and screw you for free and rarely does anyone care about dead prostitutes. I'm having trouble seeing the glam light of prostitution.
