In my English class we are soon going to writing a controlled assessment for a creative writing piece based on a movie title
I wanted to know what do you need to do to get marks in this piece and how relevant is the plot of the short story to getting the marks?

I think it's important to have a plot that makes sense, but it could only be a chunk of a plot, or it could be a basic plot.
What they usually look for is description and a fairly fluent writing style for top marks. You don't need to worry about sophisticated vocabulary as long as you have a few pieces that fit the theme, sometimes less is more as well There's probably some other things that you need to do (all hail the semi-colon) but those were the things that I was advised to do. Good luck!
