Does anybody have any experience of it?
I'm looking at joining my universities rowing team again in my final year just for something to do and a fun way of channeling energy into fitness.
Can it be done on a big enough calorie surplus? How much will endurance training (10 - 30k rows a week) affect weightlifting, in particularly, strength?
Marathon/long distance running doesn't affect your body in the same way an erg does, so looking for people with maybe rowing experience to give a bit of insight?

Recovery absolutely sucks. Been there, tried it, became overtrained, it really really sucks.
I'd start off rowing and see how I went off that. If you're in a caloric surplus rowing (you're gonna have to eat a fair amount of it) you'll put on slabs of muscle
