Hi all,

first time going on a holiday with friends, I usually (3 times, last about 10 years ago) go with family to where my parents are originally from (Pakistan) and once I went to Berlin on a college trip. I came on here to ask for suggestions or general advice on where to go.

What we want:

- Good places to eat
- Good places to do some activities
- Good weather (we're all from England so really want some sun)
- Good place to see some sights
- Relatively cheap (don't want to spend more than £500 each for flights/hotels)
- Maybe experience other cultures a bit

We're all in our mid 20's but not really big into clubbing or drinking (Muslim) so looking to go somewhere where it's not all about that really. Oh and we plan on going for a week. I was thinking Marrakech/Istanbul but my friend said Marrakech would get boring if you're there for 7 days and Istanbul is cool but there isn't much to do in terms of activities (water sports, quad biking etc). I know another dude who is going to Marmaris in Turkey and he has been reccomending that but I don't know if it as well-rounded of a place as Istanbul is, in terms of food, sight seeing, transport, shopping. We're all also planning on going towards the end of April/May (latest).

Thailand is too expensive but that's definitely one for the future, heard AMAZING things.

We've decided Marmaris.

Changed date to around mid to late May, roughly a month later because we want it to be hot but mainly sunny. Everything should be open around then too....hopefully.
