    Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knew that if I have been paying board/rent in my own home for the last 3 years, will this count to be being independent? Otherwise it is going to look like I will have very little for the loan starting Sep 16.

    Thank you in advance.

No, you have to have earned over a certain amount to qualify

You also have to have been self supported yourself too.

I have been in some way, buying my own food and paying rent. I have been working since 2012 when i finished my A-levels.

The quoted figure for earnings to be classed as independent is £7500 a year for 3 years
