Hi basically I am desperately in need of help and im really struggling with my degree but anyway here is my problem

'you are required to devise and execute an analytical project to deformulate a pharmaceutical preparation for cold and flu treatment that is known to contain three organic components. '

if anyone is able to give a detailed explanation on what do i would be ever so grateful!

Other information about this task is:

    'Qualitative identification of the components
Instrumentation for NMR and FT-IR , appropriate spectral databases and a range of relevant single-component reference samples are available.

    2) Quantitative determination of the three organic components
While analysis in the pharmaceutical industry is heavily focused on determining the concentration of active components of drug product using chromatography for separation of components, separation techniques can be time consuming, so a non-time resolved technique is required for this problem. Drug molecules often contain chromophores and so a UV spectroscopic method could be considered for the quantification phase.'
