They have a very much parallel name recognition and respect by employers. In fact, both schools conduct job fair together. You can't go wrong in either school. Just choose where you want to be at for one year. I like the Oxford name more than Cambridge but I have been to Cambridge and the place was fantastic, so I might choose it over Oxford because it doesn't really matter where you go in this particular case.

The Said Business School seems to have a better reputation that the Judge and it seems to be growing at an alarmingly quick rate (the reputation, not the school).

Neither would be my first choice, but I'd take Said over Judge because they have a social entrepreneurship program.

So, what are you choices in the UK shady lane?

Reply 5

To be honest I don't think I'll be applying anywhere in the UK except maybe Said because of that scholarship. I want to do an MBA with a view towards consulting and development, so social entrepreneurship is important for me. From doing some research, the best places for that are Harvard, Stanford, Tuck (Dartmouth), and Columbia. I'd also consider Insead because I need to learn French at some point and it's a great program.

Excellent choices shady lane. hope you can go back to stanford for MBA.

Go to Said - I went in there the other day, it's pretty sweet. They've got an amphitheatre, a bar, a croquet garden and massive leather seats in the lectures theatres which recline.

Which one is more prestigious:
"Said Business School" or "Judge Business School"?

Said has a far better reputation that Judge.

Hey.

What grades in terms of Scottish highers and adv. highers would one need to get admitted to the Economics-course at University of Cambridge and the peer at Said Business School?

in advance, thanks

Erm, do you realise that a) this thread is nearly two and a half years old and b) it's in the postgraduate forum?:erm:

Anyway, Cambridge's advanced highers offers are usually AAA - AAB, and the Oxford website says:
Students with Scottish qualifications would usually be expected to have AAAAB or AAAAA in Scottish Highers, supplemented by two or more Advanced Highers. The University currently sets conditional offers that require AAB if a student is able to take three Advanced Highers; where this is not possible then a student would be expected to achieve AA in two Advanced Highers, as well as an A grade in an additional Higher course taken in Year 6.
