Eggs are high in cholesterol.

And if you eat enough of them you'll give birth to a little chicken.

It depends which kind of eggs and its size. Normal eggs are quite high in saturated fat and cholesterol because of the yolk, if you remove it you can have as much eggs as you want!

My mum and gf always told me this too! I thought they were crazy. Eggs are so nice :frown:.
I find too many can make you a bit constipated *too much detail?*

"Conditions with elevated concentrations of oxidized LDL particles, especially small LDL particles, are associated with atheroma formation in the walls of arteries, a condition known as atherosclerosis, which is the principal cause of coronary heart disease and other forms of cardiovascular disease."

Dietary cholesterol is not the same as blood cholesterol. Dietary cholesterol, when consumed from foods such as eggs, does not have a major effect on the overall amount of cholesterol in the blood of most people.

Eggs are good for you. Eat them regularly. I used to eat 6 whole eggs a day when I was trying to gain weight.
LDL is low density lypoproteins aye?
I was doing some research into transfats ages ago and they came up. Seein as they contain LDL which is not good and decrease your HDL (high density lypoproteins) which are beneficial. Let's all become vegetarians... -_-
Eat what you want as long as you exercise and don't overeat certain substances you'll be fine, everything is bad for you now a days friggin' starlight can give you cancer next
IMO, the benifits of eating eggs drastically out weigh the risks. i really depends on how you cook them as well

for example if you constantly fry them you're taking in additional fat, then if you boil, poach, or scramble an egg.

Ah, that's not so good then. Eat the white as well it is full of protein. I'd say you can eat as many eggs as you like as long as you cook them in a healthy manner.

 thats the best part

yeah you should be fine. if you don't eat the white bit then thats the majority of the fat gone. so yeah you'll be fine

The fat is in the yoke not the white. The white is pretty much just protein.

I thought cholesterol was like a sort of concentrated fatty thing which clogged up your arteries? I always understood it as the No. 1 nutritional enemy...
no its *high* cholesterol levels that is bad, everyone has cholesterol. iirc it was something to do with the cell membranes and so cholesterol is pretty vital to most living things.
