    I wonder why everyone and everything is coloured in green when this day has come. What this colour stands for? I would love to know.

    Green has always been symbolic for Ireland. When it comes to the flag the Green stands for nationalism, orange for unionism and white for peace between the two

    Happy St Paddy's day!

    There's ne'er a mile in Ireland's Isle where the dirty vermin musters;
    Where'er he put his dear forefoot he murdered them in clusters.
    The toads went hop, the frogs went flop, slapdash into the water,
    And the beasts committed suicide to save themselves from slaughter.

    As a staunch Sinn Feinn man, the notion of the erosion of a nation's culture, identity and values by virtue of an interloping, alien force resonated especially deeply with me.

    You've inspired me.

    In honour of the day I'm going to read Making History. I've been meaning to for a while.
