Whats wrong with me?

Hey, for the last year I've been having this problem which is actually really affecting my life, heres a list of whats happenning from about the afternoon onwards:

1. I always feel really light headed.
2. I just can't concentrate.
3. I constantly get mild headaches.
4. Sometimes I just blank out randomly for a few seconds, and after sports it happens again and in the last football game I just collapsed suddenly on the pitch after around 80mins.

I mean I haven't taken any knocks on my head or anything, so it can't be a concussion. But for the last month I've tried to see what is wrong: I got more sleep, I drank more water, I ate more food and took vitamin supplements (I'm a vegetarian) to see if it is caused by a lack of something and well nothing seems to work. I even tried not watching TV or look into any monitor really to see if it is caused by looking at screens for too long.

I was planning to just leave it, but I need to sort it out because I've changed my driving lesson times to around 4.30pm (from the usual mornings) and its having a devastating effect on my driving. Also its approaching my exams soon and they are all in the morning and I'm afraid it may jeprodise my exam performance.

Thaks for reading, any response would be helpful.

No I thought its just something minor and possibly caused by say not being hydrated or something (The list things I did to try to sort it out). But I'm considering seeing a doctor about it, but I just want to get some advice really and see if anyone knows what it is.

Dont be afraid to see the doc, could be a lack of iron or something simple but they're definately the ones to know.

I had something similar where I would just swith off for a few second and snap out of it totally confused. They did loadsa scans and stuff and put it down to stress so that's a big relief.

Go have a word with the docs, please?

It sounds like it could be any number of things; but I certainly wouldn't write it off as minor! I know people often are very quick to say "see a doctor" whenever any kind of medical problem is presented, but I really would suggest it- especially considering it's having such a noticeable effect on your routine every day. Good luck! I hope it all works out.

Ditto, you said you are a vegetarian and most vegetarians don't eat eggs (the only real good source of iron from natural food).

There's loads of iron in green vegetables not eggs, if you eat lots of green then you shouldn't have a problem with iron. I think you should go to the docs too, this is serious, and if you think it will effect you exams then its important.

I hope it all goes well for you, gud luck.

btw, eggs have potein, sorry I just needed to clarify that, cos it is important to know.

Get it checked out. I don't mean to scare you but I get like this at times, not as often as you seem to be from what I can gather. It gets worse when I'm tired and run down but a few weeks ago I started feeling like this and ended up collapsing and having a fit at work. Since then I've had a few dizzy/lightheaded/world of my own moments without being run down etc. The hospital have run tests for diabetes, anaemia and lots of other things but after more tests, they think they've found a problem with my heart. The point I'm trying to make is, it really could be anything - quite possibly something simple to fix, but could be something more serious, in which case you need to get it sorted.

Definitely go see a doctor or even an optician...

I no that sounds weird but my friend who I've known for 17 years just last year during the first 2 weeks of starting school got headaches and felt light headed and she couldn't concentrate and she went to the optician thinking she needed glasses (which can give you headaches you no...)

The opticians then spotted something through her eyes...turned out she had a brain tumour...totally unexpected like! Not saying you have anything like this but you might need glasses from straining you eyes or something which could cause headaches and lack of concentration etc

Good luck anyways x

O yea I've been anaemic loads of times due to lack of red blood cells but I often get tired and get headaches so that could rightly be another possibility but don't stress too long...that could cause you even more problems just book a wee appointment with the doctor and i'm sure u'll be fine. x
