I've recently been for an academic interview at the university of Sheffield for medical biochemistry and was so unbelievably anxious I made myself look like a bumbling idiot and think now that, despite my predicted grade being D*D*D*, I have completely blown my shot at studying there. There were only 2 other students present who had to complete an academic interview and everyone else was pretty much guaranteed an offer. I know if I'm made an offer I will achieve the grade, but am thinking an offer after such a terrible interview is incredibly unlikely! Just wondering if anyone else on the face of the Earth (baring in mind the professor said they tend only to take on around 7 or 8 students with non-standard qualifications a year in the whole dept) got onto an MBB course at Sheffield with a BTEC.. and also how they felt their interview went and how they have coped with the depth of study at uni? Sorry the question is huge. Really appreciate a reply! Thank you

Hi, just wondering how it went for you? Did you receive an offer at all? I am in a similar position, but coming from an access to HE background.

Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
