Can I use my coach card to get to work? Will it be the cheapest option? Watch

Only experience I have of national express is using their coaches to get to uni and back. That said, I think I've seen their own branded trains too (which is why I'm asking this question).

Starting my first proper job on monday. I essentially need to get to Marylbone station. The closest stations to me are either Barking or Goodmayes.

Then I would take either the District>Central>Bakerloo or TFL>Central>Barkerloo to get to Marylebone. Both take around 50 minutes one way. I like buying weeklies but in the interest of saving money I was planning to buy a monthly ticket (£178.60 for zone 1-4).

I received a Natwest/National Express coachcard in the post which gives 1/3rd off standard fares. I was wondering if it is possible to try and use this in order to save some money (assuming the travel time doesn't increase by stupid amounts e.g. now 3 hours one way)
