Awww poor you, no reply! When my child was looking they looked for universities within an easy commute distance if they wanted to come home, so say max 80 miles away with no change train links. We looked at fun towns, cost of living, friendliness of people, good transport, good facilities etc, we then visited 6 university open days, this gives you a real live or hate feel for the town and university. They rejected one (Sheffield Hallam) as unfriendly and superior (sorry Sheffield) applied for the remaining five, and picked Teesside and Leeds as favourite. Unfortunately didn't get an offer for Teesside but got another 4 and chose Leeds as first choice, now very happily resident in Leeds and having the best time ever.

heard lots of good stuff about Leeds! I considered Sheffield Hallam and I've heard quite positive feedback about it.

I'm living in Cardiff at the moment and I think I need to be a certain distance away from mum do dissuade her from visiting all the time.

    Exeter looks nice!
