I recently recieved my exam timetable for the summer and noticed my economics exam and sociology are on the same day at the SAME TIME! I spoke to the exams office and they said i will have to sit one after the other. This doesnt make sense... So straight after my sociology ill have to do my economics without any break? Thats 4 hours sat in the hall. Is that even allowed??

That sounds correct. I did 6 AS levels and had to do this on a couple of occasions. You should really be given a short supervised break between them to walk around, have a drink and use the bathroom etc though.

Check with your school and how they do things. I have had Maths exams clash on a few occassions and they were both 1h30 mins long - I had a 10 minute break inbetween to drink some water and go to the toilet.

Generally you will be able to have a supervised break of a hour or so.
