Hi, I'm 18 years old and up to this point I've never had a bank account - any of my money up until now has been put away in my mum's account.
Now I need to start thinking of applying for a student loan, and need a bank account.
Obviously once I start university I can get a student account but until then i'm not eligible for a student account.
When I do, I'd like to open a student account with Santander. So I thought it made sense to open a child account, which is for 11 to 18 year olds, which can then be transferred to a student account when I start uni.
Only problem is, on attempting to apply online, it says I have to be aged 11 to 17 to apply, so I don't really know what to do. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If this was me, I'd go in and talk to someone. They can talk you through what they have. But they can't tell you which one to go for.
