    Hi

My acquaintance is self teaching GCSE maths with a hope to progressing to A level soon.

In a past paper, there is a question which asks for the cost of something over a year. He has used 365.25 in his calculations and has arrived at the correct answer, I believe, but the MS only gives credit where 365 is used.

If this were a real exam, would he get the mark? He reasons that as years are ~365.25 on average, he is correct.

Could you post the full question? Or even better tell us which past paper this is from?

    Hi notnek,

I'm sorry for wasting your time

I have now checked the MS myself and there in the bottom was NB: allow 365.25 (and certain other figures)

It appears that in his haste to mark the paper, he missed that fact. I apologise again but thanks for your swift response.
